“I cannot express how highly I recommend Ian and High Gear Bike Fitting! While training for a half Ironman I was experiencing shoulder pain and right knee pain. After a thorough functional and mobility assessment and watching me ride, Ian suggested a few changes.
Over the session he made many alterations that significantly changed my positioning on the bike. Any change that was suggested was accompanied by an explanation based on his physiotherapy knowledge and assessment. Ian is extremely open to feedback and questions, making the experience truly custom and specific to each rider.
After a few test rides I could not be happier!! I can ride longer and harder with less effort, feeling less fatigued and no more pain!

The fitting exceeded my expectations.
“Ian is clearly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about helping people feel comfortable and "bike-literate" about their bike and how their body feels on the bike. Even if you aren't a competitive athlete, but at the same time cycle more than recreationally, this is worth your money for the care of your body. The fitting exceeded my expectations because there were many connections (that I was not aware of....) that Ian explained along the way that impacted my cycling ability and physical endurance.
Immediately I saw an improvement in my comfort on the bike and power in my legs. What really blew my mind was the importance of my cleats and pedals - as I saw an improvement in my speed after Ian adjusted and tweaked a few things. Ian explained things along the way, and his energy and passion for biking are clear in how he wants others to experience cycling.
I also loved the fact that I also received strengthening exercises to help prevent injury and balance my body. This is how this type of fitting is a long-term investment: preventative physio and long-term planning for cycling endurance. It's totally worth it - I have seen comfort and improvement on my bike this year because of Ian.

Exceptional knowledge-base.
“I went to physiotherapy to see Ian for some issues I was having with my left latissimus. After discussing that riding my bike for extended periods seems to exacerbate the issue, Ian recommended getting my bike fitted.
I appreciate the time Ian had taken for the bike fit. He was thorough, he demonstrated exceptional knowledge-base and he made me feel comfortable. He took the time to answer questions and explain why adjustments were made and how they would affect my riding.
Repositioning helped to take stress off of my latissimus.
Ian provided a follow-up meeting to see if there were any adjustments we felt had to be made. However, we didn’t have to make any adjustments, the positioning was still great!
I feel that a bike fit is as important as getting other sporting equipment (running shoe, hockey equipment, etc) to fit correctly to maximize your performance.”
